Early Life and Entry into Acting

Breakthrough Role and Television Career
Mahabharat (1988–1990): Dheer’s portrayal of the tragic hero Karna in B.R. Chopra’s Mahabharat remains his most celebrated role, earning him nationwide acclaim and enduring fan devotion.
Chandrakanta (1994–1996): Cast as the firebrand Raja Shivdutt, he delivered one of Indian television’s most memorable antagonists.

He succumbed to the disease on October 15, 2025, surrounded by family at his Mumbai residence. His cremation took place the same afternoon at Pawan Hans crematorium, Vile Parle (West), Mumbai.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Dheer, and his son, actor Nikitin Dheer, known for roles in Chennai Express and Shershaah.
