He claimed that Rinku had been continuously tortured by her husband and his family for dowry. Subodh explained that Rinku’s husband and his relatives would regularly beat her, and this had been going on for quite some time. He also stated that his brother-in-law, Vijay Bhagat, had called him to inform him of Rinku’s sudden death, claiming that she had died due to illness. However, when Subodh and his relatives arrived, they found that the in-laws had already prepared the body for cremation.
