The winter season has begun to make its presence felt in Bihar, with temperatures gradually dipping, particularly in the mornings and nights. According to the latest weather forecast, several parts of Bihar, including Patna, West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Bhagalpur, Khagaria, Aurangabad, and Jamui, are expected to experience light to moderate fog during the night and early morning hours over the next two days.
Cold Weather and Temperature Outlook in Bihar
In most parts of Bihar, the minimum temperature is expected to range from 9°C to 14°C, while the maximum temperature will vary between 24°C and 28°C. On Wednesday, Patna recorded a maximum temperature of 25.6°C, which was an increase of 0.8°C from the previous day. However, the minimum temperature dropped by 1.1°C to 12.6°C, causing a noticeable chill during the nighttime.
The weather department has also predicted that the coming days will see continued foggy conditions in several districts, including Patna, West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Bhagalpur, Khagaria, Aurangabad, and Jamui, especially in the early morning and late evening hours. These foggy conditions will likely reduce visibility and make the mornings feel colder.
Temperatures in Other Districts
The weather forecast suggests that in the next 24 hours, Arwal, Jehanabad, Aurangabad, Gaya, Rohata, and Kaimur districts will witness minimum temperatures ranging between 8°C to 10°C. Despite these variations, the overall weather in Bihar remains dry, with no significant changes in maximum and minimum temperatures observed in the past 24 hours. The region will continue to experience dry weather for the next seven days. Additionally, moderate westerly winds are expected to blow at speeds of up to 30 km/h.
Weather Updates for Muzaffarpur
In Muzaffarpur, temperatures are expected to drop significantly in the coming days. According to the Rural Meteorological Department in Pusa, there has been a slight decrease in maximum temperatures over the last 24 hours, while the minimum temperature has fallen by approximately 3.5°C. As a result, residents have experienced a mild chill throughout the day.
Dr. A. Sattar, Senior Scientist at the Rural Meteorological Center, explained that the region has been experiencing westerly winds since the past week. These winds, with fluctuating speeds, have caused the temperature to fluctuate as well. However, in the coming days, the wind speed is expected to stabilize, leading to a steady drop in minimum temperatures. Furthermore, there is a possibility of a significant decrease in maximum temperatures, especially in the afternoons.
Weather Conditions in Kosi-Seemanchal Region
The Kosi and Seemanchal areas, including Purnia, experienced a surprising turn of events on Wednesday, as dense fog covered the region from early morning. Visibility in both urban and rural areas dropped to a mere 100 meters due to the thick fog. According to the weather department, there will not be any significant changes in the temperature for now. However, the fog and light chill are expected to persist in the mornings and evenings. Fortunately, the sun is expected to provide some relief during the afternoons, with bright sunlight offering a break from the cold.
What to Expect in the Coming Days
The weather forecast indicates that light to moderate fog will continue to affect various parts of Bihar, including areas like Kosi and Seemanchal, over the next few days. The daytime weather will remain relatively clear, with temperatures gradually rising as the sun emerges in the afternoon. The ongoing dry conditions are expected to last for the next week, but people should prepare for chilly mornings and foggy spells that might impact visibility.
Overall, while the temperatures are likely to remain cool, there is no significant threat of extreme cold weather or drastic changes in the coming days. The residents of Bihar should stay prepared for the gradual dip in temperatures, especially during the night and early morning hours.
Bihar’s winter weather has made its way into the state, with cold mornings and evenings becoming more pronounced. Fog is likely to continue, affecting visibility and making the chilly weather feel even colder. The region’s temperature fluctuations, especially in places like Muzaffarpur and Patna, are causing residents to feel the full impact of the changing season. As we move forward into the coming days, the weather is expected to remain mostly dry, with only light changes in temperature.
