The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon near Rohinibhan village under the Rajpur police station area. Two motorcycles collided head-on on the busy Chausa–Mohania road, leading to a horrifying scene that left locals stunned.
According to eyewitnesses, all five youths riding the two motorcycles were thrown onto the main road after the collision. They were seen writhing in pain, while blood had spread across the road. One youth died on the spot due to severe injuries, while the others were in critical condition.
Police Response and Emergency Rescue
As soon as information about the accident reached the police, a Rajpur police team rushed to the spot. The injured youths were immediately lifted from the road and taken to the nearest hospital for treatment. During the journey to the hospital, three more youths succumbed to their injuries, taking the death toll to four.
Police officials confirmed that the condition of the fifth youth remains critical. After initial treatment, he was referred to a higher medical center for advanced care. The accident caused temporary disruption in traffic movement on the main road.
How the Accident Occurred
Police investigations revealed that one motorcycle was traveling from Chausa block towards Kaimur district. At the same time, another motorcycle was approaching from the opposite direction. The first motorcycle was carrying three youths, all residents of Banarpur village, while the second motorcycle had two youths from Chandresh village in Kaimur district.
Near Rohinibhan village, one of the motorcycles reportedly lost balance. Within moments, both motorcycles collided head-on with great force. The impact was so severe that all riders were thrown several feet away from their vehicles. Both motorcycles were badly damaged in the collision.
Victims Identified
Police later identified the deceased youths. Suryadev Singh of Banarpur village died at the accident site. The others who lost their lives during treatment were Ritesh Kumar, aged 23, son of Banshidhar Kushwaha, Saif Ali, aged 24, from Chandresh village, and Upendra Prajapati, aged 27, son of Dhanu Prajapati.
All four youths suffered serious head and internal injuries. The injured youth was identified as Rupesh Kumar, son of Nand Kishor Kushwaha, also from Banarpur village. Doctors stated that his condition remains critical and he is under constant medical observation.
Crowd and Chaos at the Spot
Soon after the accident, a large crowd gathered at the site. Local residents were shocked by the gruesome scene on the main road. Blood stains were clearly visible, and damaged motorcycles lay scattered on the road. Traffic movement was affected for some time until police cleared the area.
Teams from Rajpur and Mufassil police stations managed the situation and restored traffic. The damaged motorcycles were removed, and the road was cleared to prevent further disruption.
Medical Treatment and Referral
All injured youths were first taken to the old Sadar Hospital, where doctors provided emergency treatment. Despite efforts, three youths could not be saved. Considering the critical condition of one injured youth, doctors referred him to a trauma center in Varanasi for better medical facilities.
Postmortem procedures were initiated for the deceased youths, and their bodies were sent for examination as part of legal formalities. Police informed the families of the victims and assisted them through the process.
Police Investigation Underway
Police have started a detailed investigation into the accident. Preliminary findings suggest overspeeding and triple riding as possible causes. Officials also noted that one motorcycle was carrying three riders, which may have contributed to the loss of balance.
Authorities are examining whether safety measures such as helmet use were followed. Statements of eyewitnesses are being recorded to determine the exact sequence of events. Further action will be taken after completion of the investigation.
Villages in Mourning
The tragic accident has cast a shadow of grief over Banarpur and Chandresh villages. Families of the deceased youths are in deep shock, and mourning has spread across both areas. Local residents expressed concern over the rising number of road accidents on the Chausa–Mohania road.
People have demanded stricter enforcement of traffic rules and better monitoring to prevent such incidents. The accident once again highlights serious road safety concerns in Bihar, especially in rural areas.
Growing Road Safety Concerns in Bihar
This incident has renewed focus on road safety in Bihar, where head-on collisions and overloading remain common causes of fatal accidents. Police officials have urged commuters to follow traffic rules strictly and avoid risky behavior on roads.
The condition of the injured youth continues to be monitored closely by doctors. Police officials said further updates will be shared as the investigation progresses and medical condition improves or changes.
