A shocking robbery incident at a jewelry shop in Siwan has left the area in a state of panic. Six criminals looted jewelry worth Rs. 30 lakh from the shop in broad daylight. The police investigation revealed that the mastermind behind the robbery was a notorious criminal, Ranjit, who is currently serving time in jail. This revelation has further added to the tension in the region.
The Siwan Robbery Incident
The robbery took place on Thursday afternoon in the Raghunathpur police station area of Siwan district, specifically at the Tari Bazaar. Around 12 PM, six armed men, riding two Apache bikes, stormed into Krishna Jewelers, a local jewelry shop. They threatened the shop owner and his family members at gunpoint and proceeded to loot valuables worth Rs. 30 lakh and Rs. 20,000 in cash. During the robbery, the criminals fired several rounds inside and outside the shop, creating chaos in the area.
Robbery in Broad Daylight
According to the shop owner, two women were shopping for jewelry inside the store when the criminals arrived. Around 12:05 PM, the robbers entered the shop on two motorcycles. One of the criminals pointed a gun at the shop owner’s head, while another intimidated his son, Ankit, and snatched the keys to the almirah. Within just two minutes, the criminals packed the jewelry into bags, fired shots, and fled the scene.
Local Resistance During Firing
Witnesses reported that three criminals stood outside the shop, firing into the air to keep anyone from intervening. However, the brave locals fought back. They threw bricks and stones at the robbers, forcing them to flee toward the Chainpur–Hasanpura direction. A few local youths chased them and managed to capture one of the criminals in the process.
Shocking Revelation: The Robbery Planned from Jail
The police investigation has led to a startling revelation. It turns out that the mastermind behind the robbery is none other than Ranjit, a notorious criminal currently incarcerated in jail. According to sources, Ranjit needed money for his bail, so he used his contacts from prison to plan the heist. He gave instructions to his associates from behind bars, and they carried out the crime accordingly.
The shop owner confirmed that the criminals made off with around 300 grams of gold, 4-5 kilograms of silver, and Rs. 20,000 in cash. In addition, due to the ongoing wedding season, several pieces of jewelry belonging to the family members were also in the shop, which were stolen during the robbery.
Concerns About the Lack of Police Patrolling
Local residents have raised concerns about the inadequate patrolling in such densely populated areas. They claimed that the criminals had been firing for 2-3 minutes, but no police officers were seen in the vicinity. Even though the police arrived after the incident, the community expressed their frustration, claiming that the authorities were only issuing statements and failing to take any concrete action to prevent such crimes.
SP Manoj Kumar Tiwari confirmed that an FIR had been registered based on the statement of the shop owner. He also mentioned that one of the suspects had been arrested. Multiple teams led by the SDPO have begun raids to apprehend the remaining criminals. The arrested suspect is currently being interrogated, and the police are continuing their search for the other robbers.
The Growing Issue of Crime in Bihar
The robbery in Siwan is just one of many incidents that have raised alarms about the rising crime rate in Bihar. Despite claims of increased police action under the leadership of Home Minister Samrat Chaudhary, criminals seem to be operating with increasing audacity. This robbery, which took place in a busy market area, further highlights the need for better security measures, especially in densely populated areas.
The local community has been vocal about the lack of visible police presence and the slow response time in such critical situations. As the police investigation continues, residents are calling for more effective measures to curb the growing wave of crimes in the state.
The daring daylight robbery in Siwan has sent shockwaves through the region. The involvement of a criminal mastermind operating from jail has added an element of shock to the incident. As the police continue their investigation and make arrests, the local community remains anxious, urging authorities to take stronger actions to prevent such crimes in the future. With the increasing frequency of criminal activities in Bihar, it is essential that the authorities prioritize better security and proactive measures to ensure the safety of the public.
