A shocking crime incident has surfaced from Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district, creating fear among local residents. The incident took place in the Musahri police station area near Rohua petrol pump. On Thursday morning, armed criminals openly fired several rounds outside a residential house. The attackers escaped easily after the firing, leaving the area in panic and shock.
According to initial information, two unidentified criminals arrived on a motorcycle and targeted a house near the petrol pump. The firing incident occurred in broad daylight, highlighting the growing concern over law and order in the district. Although the house owner narrowly escaped injury, the incident has spread fear across the locality.
Incident Occurred Around 7:30 AM
The firing reportedly took place around 7:30 in the morning. The house belongs to Satish Kumar Thakur, a resident of Bawan Bigha village. He owns land and a residential property located close to the Rohua petrol pump. His son, Sameer Thakur, frequently visits the house during morning and evening hours.
On the morning of the incident, everything appeared normal. Suddenly, two masked men arrived on a motorcycle and stopped outside the house. Without any warning, they opened fire and shot multiple rounds toward the building. After firing several bullets, the criminals fled the scene without resistance.
House Owner Escapes, Locals Panic
Fortunately, Satish Kumar Thakur was not injured during the attack. However, the sound of gunfire created chaos in the surrounding area. Local residents rushed indoors after hearing continuous firing. Many people reported feeling unsafe, especially due to the attackers acting without fear of police presence.
The incident has triggered serious concerns about public safety. Residents stated that such open firing incidents are becoming frequent. They also expressed fear about moving freely in the area, especially during early morning hours.
CCTV Footage Captures Entire Incident
The entire firing incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed near the house. The footage clearly shows two armed criminals firing repeatedly before escaping. The visuals reveal how confidently the attackers carried out the crime. Police are closely examining the footage to identify the suspects.
Soon after receiving information, Musahri police station officer Subodh Kumar Mehta reached the spot with his team. The police recovered several empty cartridges from the scene. The area was secured, and locals were questioned for additional details.
Previous Extortion Complaint Linked to Incident
During questioning, Satish Kumar Thakur informed the police about an earlier extortion case. He stated that he had already filed an FIR at Musahri police station regarding extortion demands. According to him, the firing incident is linked to that ongoing dispute.
Thakur alleged that the attackers acted under pressure related to extortion and land-related conflicts. He believes the firing was meant to threaten him and force compliance. The police have taken this claim seriously and added it to the investigation records.
Complaint Raised at Public Grievance Program
Satish Kumar Thakur had earlier raised the issue at a public grievance program. He had submitted a complaint before Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue Minister Vijay Sinha. The complaint was made during a public hearing program held at a university in Muzaffarpur.
Despite reporting threats earlier, the firing incident still occurred. This has raised questions about criminal confidence and preventive policing. Authorities are now reviewing earlier complaints connected to the case.
Land Dispute Emerges as Key Angle
Police officials stated that the case appears linked to a long-standing land dispute. Preliminary investigation suggests that Satish Kumar Thakur has been facing threats related to the same land for some time. He had previously registered complaints regarding extortion and death threats.
Despite these complaints, criminals carried out the firing, openly challenging law enforcement. Police believe the incident was aimed at creating pressure through fear. Investigators are examining past disputes and known offenders in the area.
Police Assure Swift Action
Musahri police station officer Subodh Kumar Mehta said immediate action was taken after receiving information. He confirmed recovery of empty cartridges and CCTV footage from the site. The police are actively working to identify the attackers using video evidence.
He added that the matter is being investigated from all possible angles. Police teams are conducting raids and questioning suspects. Authorities assured that the criminals would be arrested soon and the case would be resolved quickly.
Growing Concern Over Law and Order
The firing incident has once again highlighted concerns over rising crime in Muzaffarpur. Open gunfire in residential areas has alarmed citizens. Many locals are demanding increased police patrolling and stricter action against repeat offenders.
Residents believe such incidents damage public confidence and daily safety. They have urged the administration to ensure stronger surveillance and faster response. The case remains under investigation, and further developments are awaited.
Police officials have urged citizens to remain calm and cooperate with the investigation. Security in the area has been increased temporarily. Authorities hope swift arrests will restore confidence and prevent similar incidents in the future.
