Incidents of attacks on police teams have become alarmingly frequent. However, a recent incident from Uttar Pradesh has shocked many. In this case, women threw an inflammable substance on a police team, causing injuries to three female constables. The victims sustained severe burns, and their condition is said to be critical. The authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter. The incident occurred in Itora village, located in the Raya area of Mathura district, Uttar Pradesh.
The Incident and Attack on Police Team
On Thursday evening, a police team had been dispatched to help a local resident take possession of his land. While on duty, the police were attacked by some villagers. During the altercation, a few women from the crowd threw a flammable chemical substance at the police team. As a result, three female constables suffered burns. The injured officers were immediately taken to the Saunai Community Health Center, where their condition was stabilized before being referred to the District Hospital for further treatment.
Dispute Over Land Ownership
The incident was a result of a long-standing land dispute. A local villager, Ajay, had purchased a piece of land. However, when the measurements were taken, the area of the land turned out to be smaller than expected. Ajay filed a complaint with the revenue department regarding the discrepancies. Following this, the department conducted a survey of the land. On Thursday evening, the police arrived at the site to assist Ajay in taking possession of his land, as the matter had already been resolved by the authorities.
Escalation of Tension and Attack on Police Personnel
As the police arrived at the scene, a confrontation occurred between Ajay’s group and the opposing party led by Daulatram. This led to an exchange of heated arguments. The situation quickly escalated, and villagers began pushing and shoving the police officers. In the midst of the chaos, several women in the crowd threw the flammable substance first on themselves and then on the police officers. The chemical substance caused burns to the three female constables, identified as Anita, Sheela, and Mamta.
Following the attack, CO Mahawan Sanjeev Rai stated that an investigation into the incident is underway. A forensic team has been dispatched to the site to collect samples of the inflammable substance used in the attack. The police are working to determine the exact nature of the chemical and how it caused harm to the officers. Further actions are being taken as the authorities continue their inquiry into the disturbing event.
This attack on the police highlights the growing tensions in rural areas over land disputes. The incident also sheds light on the rising risks faced by law enforcement officers while performing their duties. As the investigation progresses, the authorities are expected to take appropriate legal action against those responsible for this violent act.
