Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a direct attack on the RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) and Congress in the ongoing Bihar election campaign. Speaking at a public rally in Muzaffarpur on Thursday, PM Modi addressed the state’s troubled past and criticized the political parties for their role in the “jungle raj” that once plagued Bihar. He described five key terms that he believes define the governance of RJD and its allies: cutta (firearm), cruelty, bitterness, misrule, and corruption.
PM Modi’s Critique of RJD and Congress Rule:
At the rally, Prime Minister Modi questioned the performance of RJD and Congress-led governments in Bihar. He raised five words that, in his view, encapsulate the flaws of their rule: cutta (firearm), cruelty, bitterness, misrule, and corruption. Modi emphasized that these terms epitomize the “jungle raj” that has been associated with the RJD’s reign in Bihar. According to him, this is not just a description of the RJD’s governance but also a reflection of the political climate created by their allies in the state.
He further criticized the lawlessness and social unrest that prevailed during this period. “In an environment ruled by cutta and cruelty, the law fails to stand strong. Where bitterness takes over, harmony becomes a distant dream. Under misrule and corruption, development is nowhere to be found,” Modi stated.
The Prime Minister added that the people of Bihar had suffered under a system where corruption prevailed, and the poor were denied their rights. He pointed out that only a few families had flourished under this governance while the general populace continued to struggle. PM Modi questioned whether such a leadership could ever bring progress to Bihar.
The Need for Development and Industrial Growth in Bihar:
PM Modi emphasized that Bihar’s future lay in industrial growth and entrepreneurship. For this, he argued, the state required essential resources such as land, electricity, connectivity, and most importantly, a rule of law. He reminded the audience that those whose history was steeped in land-grabbing and exploitation could never be expected to provide land for industrial development. He questioned whether a party with a history of keeping Bihar in the “lantern age” would ever be capable of providing electricity for industrial growth.
Furthermore, he pointed out that the RJD-Congress combine had a legacy of looting the railways, and they were unlikely to improve Bihar’s connectivity. Similarly, with their history of record-breaking corruption, he asked whether they could ever establish the rule of law in the state.
Focus on BJP and NDA’s Progress in Bihar:
PM Modi praised the leadership of the BJP and NDA (National Democratic Alliance) for bringing positive change to Bihar. He highlighted that under the current governance, Bihar had seen the establishment of railway engines, large dairy plants, and the global export of its famous makhana (fox nut). Additionally, the state had witnessed growth in sectors such as food processing, textiles, leather parks, and IT parks, signaling a new era for Bihar’s economy.
According to Modi, these efforts were leading to a reduction in youth migration from the state. He expressed confidence that Bihar’s sons and daughters would no longer have to leave the state in search of jobs. Instead, they would find work within Bihar and help elevate the state’s name globally. The Prime Minister’s vision for Bihar was one where the state was not only self-sufficient but also a hub of industrial activity and progress.
PM Modi Targets RJD’s Election Campaign Songs:
In a scathing attack on the RJD-Congress’s election propaganda, PM Modi criticized the nature of the songs being played in their rallies. He stated that the songs used by the RJD and Congress were filled with violence and threats. “They are playing songs about knives, firearms, and bullets. Such messages are a reflection of their mentality. It is evident from their choice of election slogans that they believe in instilling fear and promoting violence. They have even threatened to abduct women and children, which is completely unacceptable,” Modi said.
He called on the youth of Bihar to reject these divisive tactics and stand up against such negativity. He posed a direct question to the young voters, asking whether they would accept this kind of political rhetoric. Modi further emphasized that the people of Bihar needed to make a clear decision: whether to support a government that promotes violence and fear or one that stands for development, peace, and progress.
Prime Minister Modi Criticizes RJD’s Election Manifesto:
Towards the end of his speech, PM Modi took a dig at the RJD’s election manifesto, calling it a joke. He questioned whether Bihar would allow “these young heirs, who are out on bail, to loot the state once again.” He asserted that the people of Bihar had made it clear through recent surveys that the RJD and Congress were headed for a major defeat in this election. He pointed out that these surveys were showing that the NDA was on track for a significant victory. Modi stated that the RJD-Congress alliance was nervous because of the growing discontent among the people, leading them to present false promises in their manifesto.
“Even their own supporters are not believing the lies in their manifesto,” Modi said. He noted that the youth of Bihar, particularly on social media, were mocking the opposition for their unrealistic promises. The Prime Minister accused the RJD and Congress of underestimating the intelligence of Bihar’s citizens, warning that the people of Bihar would not fall for their deceptive tactics.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech in Muzaffarpur marked a decisive moment in the ongoing Bihar elections. By highlighting the failures of the RJD-Congress alliance and contrasting it with the successes of the NDA, Modi reinforced his message of development and governance based on integrity and progress. The rally was not just a political speech but a call to action for the people of Bihar to choose a future of prosperity and self-reliance over fear, corruption, and violence.
As the election date draws closer, it is clear that the stakes are high, and the rhetoric surrounding Bihar’s future continues to intensify. The people will soon have to decide whether they want to continue on the path of progress or return to the old days of jungle raj under RJD and Congress leadership.
