
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has announced direct recruitment for the position of Computer Operator Grade-A. The official notification for the recruitment has been published on the UP Police website. As per the announcement, the application process started on December 16, 2025, and interested candidates can apply online by January 15, 2026. Candidates are required to complete the One Time Registration (OTR) before applying for the positions.
Salary and Benefits for UP Police Computer Operator Grade-A
The pay scale for the Computer Operator Grade-A positions has been set according to the 7th Pay Commission. The pay band is between ₹5200 and ₹20200, with a grade pay of ₹2400. As per the 7th Pay Commission, the salary matrix for this position will range from ₹25,500 to ₹81,100.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for this position must meet the following educational qualifications:
The candidate must have passed the Intermediate (Class 12) examination from a recognized board with Physics and Mathematics subjects.
Additionally, candidates should hold an O-level computer certificate from an institution recognized by the Government of India.
Alternatively, a diploma in Computer Engineering, IT, or Electronics Engineering is also acceptable.
Other qualifications such as having an NCC ‘B’ certificate or a minimum of two years of service in the Territorial Army will be considered beneficial.
Age Limit for UP Police Computer Operator Recruitment
The age limit for candidates is set between 18 and 28 years. Applicants should have been born between July 1, 1997, and July 1, 2007.
Selection Process: Written Examination
Candidates for this recruitment will be selected through a written examination. The exam will be of 200 marks, consisting of 160 multiple-choice questions. The questions will be divided into three sections:
General Knowledge
Mental Ability and Reasoning
Computer Science-related Topics
Each section will contain 40 questions, and the total duration of the exam will be 2 hours. The exam will be conducted on an OMR sheet. To pass the examination, candidates must secure a minimum of 40% marks. The final selection will be based on normalization and merit list, though no merit list will be published for this recruitment.
Application Fee
The application fee for the examination is set at ₹500 for candidates belonging to the General, EWS, and OBC categories. For candidates from the SC/ST categories, the application fee is ₹400.
Upcoming Recruitment for 22000 Constable Positions
In addition to the Computer Operator recruitment, there are reports that the UP Police Recruitment Board is planning to release notifications for the recruitment of 22,000 constables.
