With expansion, it must reach 86 centimeters. A minimum expansion difference of 5 centimeters is mandatory.
For SC and ST male candidates, the chest measurement without expansion must be 79 centimeters. With expansion, it should be at least 84 centimeters. The required expansion difference remains the same.
Selection Process and Merit Criteria
The selection process for BPSSC Havildar Clerk Recruitment 2026 consists of a written examination followed by a physical efficiency test. The written examination will be qualifying in nature. Marks obtained in the written test will not be included in the final merit list.

The examination will be conducted using OMR answer sheets. One copy of the answer sheet will be preserved by the commission for one year after the publication of the final merit list.
Physical Efficiency Test Details
Candidates qualifying the written examination will appear for the physical efficiency test. The test pattern and standards will be the same as those prescribed for the Bihar Police constable recruitment.
The physical efficiency test will carry a total of 100 marks. Height and chest measurements will be qualifying only. Marks will be awarded for running, shot put, and high jump events.
For male candidates, a one-mile run must be completed within six minutes. Candidates finishing under five minutes will score the highest marks. Those exceeding six minutes will be declared unfit.
Female candidates must complete a one-kilometer run within five minutes. Performance beyond the prescribed limit will result in disqualification.
Shot put and high jump events carry equal importance. Male candidates will throw a 16-pound shot put, while female candidates will use a 12-pound shot put. Minimum qualifying distances have been fixed for both.
High jump requirements differ for male and female candidates. Male candidates must clear at least four feet. Female candidates must clear a minimum height of three feet. Failure to meet minimum standards will result in elimination.
