Recently, a notice has gone viral on social media regarding the recruitment for 62,460 Group D vacancies. Selection Process
The selection process for the Group D recruitment will be based on two main stages:
Computer-Based Test (CBT)
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Candidates who pass the CBT will be called for the PET. The CBT will be a single-stage exam, followed by PET, document verification, and medical examination.
RRB Group D Exam Pattern and CBT Details
The Computer-Based Test (CBT) for the RRB Group D recruitment will consist of 100 questions in total. The subjects and the number of questions from each category are as follows:
General Science: 25 questions
Mathematics: 25 questions
General Intelligence and Reasoning: 30 questions

The total duration of the CBT will be 90 minutes. Candidates should note that there will be a negative marking system, where one-third of the marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. The CBT will also use the normalization method to calculate the final marks.
Minimum Passing Marks for CBT
The minimum passing marks for the CBT will be different for each category. They are as follows:
UR (Unreserved): 40%
EWS (Economically Weaker Sections): 40%
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 30%

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Details
The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will be conducted to assess the physical fitness of the candidates. The standards for the PET are different for male and female candidates.

For Female Candidates

These physical tests will be a crucial part of the selection process and will determine a candidate’s eligibility for the next stages.
Application Process and Fees
Candidates can apply for only one railway zone. If an individual applies for multiple RRBs, their applications will be rejected. However, candidates can apply for multiple positions within the same RRB. It is important to note that a single online application can cover multiple positions under the same RRB, so there is no need to fill out separate applications.
The application fee for the Group D recruitment will be as follows:
General, OBC, and EWS candidates will need to pay an application fee of INR 500.
However, if candidates appear for the first stage of the CBT, INR 400 will be refunded.
Salary and Pay Scale
Selected candidates for Group D (Level-1) positions will receive a pay scale of INR 18,000 per month. This salary will be the starting pay for these positions, and the compensation may increase based on seniority and other factors.
The RRB Group D Vacancy 2025 announcement is highly anticipated, as it will offer thousands of opportunities for candidates across India. With 62,460 vacancies expected for Level-1 positions, the recruitment process will be competitive. Candidates should prepare for the Computer-Based Test and the Physical Efficiency Test, as both will play a crucial role in the selection process. The application process is straightforward, but candidates should be mindful of the age limits, educational qualifications, and physical standards required. With the viral notice sparking excitement, hopeful candidates are eagerly waiting for the official notification to be released by the Railway Recruitment Board.
