Bihar Weather Update : Impact of Western Disturbance and Cyclonic Storm on the State’s Weather

As winter approaches, the weather in Bihar is expected to change soon. However, the exact timing of the cold spell and the onset of winter will depend on the arrival of a strong western disturbance or rainfall in the region. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the weather in Bihar and neighboring areas like Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand may experience a shift due to a powerful western disturbance or rainfall.

Cyclonic Storm Near the Bay of Bengal to Affect Weather

A cyclonic storm is expected to form over the southeastern Bay of Bengal by November 26. This storm will have an impact on the weather patterns in Eastern Bangladesh and surrounding regions. According to the weather department, a cyclonic circulation exists in the upper atmosphere, about 1.5 kilometers above sea level, which is causing frequent changes in wind directions. This has prevented any significant drop in minimum temperatures or the formation of dense morning fog, which typically signals the arrival of winter. As a result, the expected increase in cold weather is yet to be observed.

When Will the Cold Set In?

The winter season in Bihar typically spans from December to February. After the cyclonic storm passes, the weather department expects a shift in the weather pattern. The arrival of a strong western disturbance or rainfall will bring about a change in the weather, making it more likely that the people of Bihar will begin feeling the cold. The IMD has also indicated that this weather shift could impact other states like Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, leading to significant changes in temperatures in the region.

Temperature Drop in Bihar’s Major Cities

The weather forecast for Monday suggests a slight decrease in minimum temperatures across most cities in Bihar. It is expected that the minimum temperatures will drop by one to two degrees Celsius. On Sunday, temperatures in several cities in Bihar had already experienced a decrease, with the maximum and minimum temperatures both falling. The maximum temperature ranged from 25.2°C to 31.2°C, while the minimum temperature was recorded between 12.3°C and 19.7°C.

Patna’s Weather Outlook for Today

In Patna, the weather is expected to remain clear on Monday. However, there is a likelihood of light fog in the morning hours. On Sunday, Patna experienced a minor drop in temperatures. The maximum temperature in the city was recorded at 26.5°C, while the minimum temperature dipped to 17.2°C, showing a decrease of about 0.6°C from the previous day.

The weather conditions in Bihar are in a state of flux as the region awaits the influence of a strong western disturbance and a cyclonic storm. The onset of cold weather is expected to be delayed until the effects of the storm subside. In the meantime, temperatures across Bihar will experience minor fluctuations, with the expected drop in minimum temperatures signaling the gradual arrival of winter. Residents of Bihar and neighboring states should stay updated with the latest forecasts to prepare for the impending weather changes.

As we move closer to December, it is anticipated that the winter season will begin to take hold in Bihar, bringing with it colder temperatures and a change in the overall weather pattern.
