
In the 2025 Muzaffarpur district elections, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) emerged victorious, securing 10 out of 11 seats. The seats of Aorai, Minapur, Bochaha, Sakra, Kudhani, Muzaffarpur, Kanti, Baruraj, Paru, Sahebganj, and Gayghat all went to NDA candidates. The Grand Alliance (MGB) managed to win just one seat. In the 2020 elections, NDA had won 6 seats while the MGB secured 5 seats. Notable victories included Ranjan Kumar of BJP, who defeated Congress’s veteran Bijnender Chaudhary by over 32,000 votes in Muzaffarpur. Additionally, Rma Nishad of BJP claimed a major victory in Aorai with a margin of 57,206 votes.
